Robert B. Meek, III, MD

Dr. Robert B. Meek, III, is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and a member of the American Rhinologic Society. He graduated Cum Laude from Wake Forest University and studied medicine at the West Virginia School of Medicine where he completed a residency in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery. He went on to become an assistant professor at the University of Virginia, where he also studied and worked on research of voice and swallowing disorders, including how reflux affects voice and swallowing. One of Dr. Meek’s major focuses is to the dedication to management of diseases of the nose, sinuses, and skull base. He brings two decades of experience to diagnosing and treating adults and children with a wide range of conditions, ranging from common allergies and sinusitis to cancer. He has expertise with difficult to manage cases of sinusitis, revision sinus surgery, and surgical treatment of sino-nasal tumors. Dr. Meek treats patients with problems located in the larynx or esophagus which includes hoarseness and/or voice disturbances, dysphagia, or breathing difficulties due to airway stenosis or scarring. His laryngology interests include vocal performance and treatment of the aging voice.. He is one of the few physicians in the area who can perform local vocal cord injections in the office to treat vocal cord paralysis, presbylarynx, and refractory chronic cough when due to aspiration.


Dr. Meek utilizes the latest, state-of-the-art tools and technology at his practice, including: a 3-D CT scan for evaluating chronic sinusitis, and leading-edge surgical tools, such as stereotactic navigation and balloon dilation of the sinuses and eustachian tubes. He stays current on the latest developments in otolaryngology with a particular interest in rhinology and voice and swallowing disorders by attending several professional conferences each year.


Each examination room at Anne Arundel ENT is equipped with a touch screen display for presenting disease-specific videos and anatomical diagrams to ensure that every patient understands his or her diagnosis and treatment options. Dr. Meek is a firm proponent of educating patients so they can make the most informed decision about their care.
